Firefighters investigate roof collapse at Cassat Avenue Dunkin'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department were sent to scene of a reported roof collapse Tuesday evening at a Dunkin’ on Cassat Avenue.

Online, the Dunkin’ is advertised as being open 24 hours. The building also houses a Baskin-Robbins.

In a statement Wednesday, a spokesperson for Dunkin’ said the lobby was open during the time of the roof collapse, and, fortunately, no employees or guests were injured.

“The restaurant is closed while the franchisee, who owns and operates the restaurant, works with the local authorities determine the cause of this incident. The franchisee plans to reopen and we look forward to once again serving our loyal Jacksonville guests at this location,” the statement reads.

The damage was reported after an evening of intense storms around Jacksonville. Many people reported seeing hail in their neighborhood.
