JACKSONVILLE, Fla – A pedestrian hit by a car was seriously injured Sunday night near W. Edgewood Avenue and Avenue B, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said they arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. and found the victim.

An ambulance took the person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police. Traffic homicides detectives were on the way to the scene before midnight.
Officers are currently investigating how the crash happened.
No further information was provided. It wasn’t clear if the driver stayed on the scene.
