JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is expected to recover after he was found with a gunshot wound on Thursday at a gas station in the Brentwood neighborhood.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the man was found with a gunshot wound in his leg around 5:30 p.m. at a gas station near the intersection of East 21st Street and North Main Street.
JFRD transported the victim to a local hospital. The injury was reported to be non-life threatening.
JSO said the victim said he was shot at the corner of W. 25th St. and North Main St. but did not give any suspect information.
Officers searched the area for a scene or any witnesses but had no luck, JSO said, but investigators did find a possible scene in the 100 block of W. 22nd St. behind a vacant house.
An officer located blood at the location that led towards the gas station where the victim found by JSO.
Blue Washington says she heard the gunshot then.
“He ran to the front of this gas station. He was bleeding all over the place. I tried to help the man, then I saw a police officer swarm in before the ambulance arrived,” Washington said. “He came running from other there and it’s always drama on that other block.”
Violent Crime Unit Detectives and Crime Scene Detectives responded to investigate.
Early Thursday morning, a woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was shot near the intersection of West 12 street and Davis Street.
