JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The St. Johns River Ferry resumes service at 3 p.m. Tuesday after an equipment issued forced it out of service Saturday morning, according to Jacksonville Transportation Authority.
JTA inspected the vessel and found that a part associated with the steering unit was damaged and needed to be replaced.

The repair was made Tuesday and the ship successfully passed its U.S. Coast Guard inspection.
Trips for the remainder of the day Tuesday will be free for all customers.
