JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dozens of rodent droppings are among the reasons that two Northeast Florida restaurants were shut down last week, and an inspector even found a live rodent in one of the restaurants, according to Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation records.

Time Out Sports Grill in Hodges Plaza was closed for more than 15 violations, according to an inspection report.
In a recent inspection, the report said, an inspector found 54 rodent droppings, 47 of which were beneath the reach-in coolers, and below and on top of a pizza oven. There was a live rodent moving on the sticky trap between the sink and freezer during the inspection at the restaurant, the report said.
There were also live, small, flying insects in the kitchen by the food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area, according to the report.
The restaurant also received a violation for having raw food not properly separated, but that was fixed during the inspection, the report shows.

Sonny’s BBQ in Palm Coast
Sonny’s BBQ off Cypress Edge Drive was closed after an inspection on Nov. 10, also because of rodent droppings, an inspection report shows.
According to the report, 69 droppings were found on the bottom shelves of a prep table by the takeout window, on a cutting board on a shelf and in other places around the restaurant.
The report said the person in charge started vacuuming and sanitizing during the inspection.
