JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A jetliner that had just taken off from the Jacksonville International Airport on Monday was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing.
According to the airport authority, American Airlines flight 5681 was heading for Philadelphia when it began its departure from the gate around 3:25 p.m. Pilots reported a mechanical problem with the plane shortly after takeoff and had to turn back, landing again at JAX at about 4:12 p.m.
