JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after the body of a man was found in a car Monday afternoon on East 28 Street.
According to Sgt. Steve Rudlaff, with the Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the scene at approximately 1 p.m. He said the man is believed to be between the ages of 50 and 60.

Rudlaff said it appears the shooting occurred inside the vehicle. There was no description of the shooter, who is at large.

The shooting adds to what was a violent weekend in Jacksonville. Over the weekend, nine unrelated shootings were reported in the Jacksonville area.
