Woman suffering from gunshot wound dies at fire station, Jacksonville police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a woman in her 30s was driven to a fire station by her mother Monday afternoon for treatment of a gunshot wound, where she died.

Sgt. Russell, with the Sheriff’s Office, said police were called to Fire Station 33 at about 4 p.m. in reference to the woman who had been shot. He said investigators determined the woman had been shot outside of a home on New Kings Road.

“We believe it was an argument but past that we’re not sure,” Russell said.

The sergeant said police were talking with several people who were at the scene of the shooting, but he added that no one had been identified as a suspect.
