The attack that happened on Monday at a gas station on University Boulevard was recorded from store surveillance video and shared with News4JAX by the 23-year-old victim, Rayme McCoy, who is Black.

It was a quick weekend in jail Williamson. Williamson was arrested Friday night, had his first appearance Saturday, posted bond, and was released Saturday night.

News4JAX spoke to a woman in his neighborhood off McDuff Avenue.

“It upset me,” the woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said after seeing the video. “And it kind of traumatized me. And then when I looked on my sexual predator list, I actually saw the guy that lived across the street that was beating up on the girl, Williams.”

Records show Williams has been a registered sex offender for over 30 years and has faced other charges including domestic violence and aggravated assaults. Court records show violence charges were eventually dropped.

The woman said now that Williamson has been released she wants the police to watch him closely.

“I’m frightened for all the other people then out here that saw he’s out and he could may very well do this again,” the woman said.

The woman called the police Sunday morning and filed an information report, making them aware of her concerns.

Williamson in court Saturday asked for his bond to be reduced to nothing, but the judge denied it.
