JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says police are investigating after a person was found shot Wednesday afternoon in a car stopped on Interstate 95 near Philips Highway.
Sgt. Barnes, with the Sheriff’s Office, said police were originally called to the scene in reference to a crash. They found a man in his 30s who had been shot multiple times.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to Barnes. She said there were no outstanding suspects.
An arrest report obtained Thursday by News4JAX states the incident is believed to have stemmed from road rage. The victim hold police he was heading south on I-95 near the Avenues Mall when a blue pickup speeded past him and pulled in front of him, “blowing smoke” from his exhaust.
The report states the victim changed lanes and got in front of the truck -- and as the pickup passed the victim, the car was hit by gunfire. Investigators said the person who was shot got the tag number and gave it to JSO, and a suspect was arrested..
