ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Three crashes on Interstate 95 between State Roads 16 and 207 led to a massive back-up Friday morning, according to Florida 511.
Two of those crashes were cleared by 4:45 a.m. The third had all southbound lanes of I-95 closed.
The impact led to a backup that reached as long as seven miles. As of 11 a.m. — all lanes had reopened.
News4JAX learned the crash occurred after a semi-truck failed to slow down as it approached another crash. That caused a chain reaction involving two other semis. Thankfully no one was hurt.
