JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville R&B singer and entertainer YK Osiris visited several local schools this week in an effort to inspire students to succeed and talk with them about mental health.
YK Osiris, whose birth name is Osiris Williams and is perhaps best known for his 2019 hit “Worth It,” visited Ed White and Andrew Jackson high schools as well as Landmark Middle School and Mattie V Rutherford Alternative Education Center on Tuesday.

The Def Jam recording artist who has more than 3 million followers on Instagram took photos and spoke with dozens of students to help keep them motivated and let them know they are able to achieve anything they put their minds to, a spokesperson for the entertainer told News4JAX.
“This is a moment [for real] this is the reason I won’t stop at all, this mean so much to me [for real] knowing that I have people that really love me,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post showing him with a crying fan at Landmark Middle.
Williams drew concern from fans earlier this month when he appeared to break down talking about his mental state on Instagram Live. He became emotional talking about how he is no longer friends with many other people in the industry, including rappers Drake and Lil Baby.
The following day, Williams posted a video thanking those who reached out to him to show love.
“I just want to say I appreciate every single person that checked up on me yesterday. I was very down and very emotional. I was drained but y’all helped me a lot,” Williams said. “I don’t care if you’re famous or not famous, man. Mental health is serious.”
Williams appears to be feeling better — using his experiences to help others that may be going through hard times, including the students of Jacksonville.
The Jaguars also rolled out the red carpet for Willaims on Sunday before the team’s game against the New York Giants.
