JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An overturned semi-truck closed all lanes Thursday morning on the Dames Point Bridge, according to Florida 511.
The incident happened just before 9:30 a.m. as the semi was traveling across the top of the bridge. FHP confirmed that the truck was blown over by a strong wind gust.

The semi-truck driver was reported trapped, but the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was able to safely remove the individual. The driver did not suffer any injuries from the incident.

Drivers should avoid the area as delays are expected.
Multiple crashes are being reported across Jacksonville as Tropical Storm Nicole brings intense winds and heavy rains. Emergency management officials are also encouraging drivers to stay off the roads, if possible as Nicole’s impact increases.
