JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 53-year-old Jacksonville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon while driving on the First Coast Expressway, north of Argyle Forest Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to troopers, the man was driving a Lexus sport utility vehicle in the left southbound lane of the First Coast Expressway shortly before 1:10 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he veered into the grass median and then over-corrected, causing the SUV to go back across the southbound lanes, travel through the grass shoulder, strike a tree in the wood line and overturn.
