JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The American Red Cross was called to assist six adults and six children Friday night after a stack of pallets caught fire and spread to nearby structures, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

JFRD was called to the scene in the afternoon on West 22nd Street. A spokesperson said the fire started in a burn barrel, and the windy conditions caused embers to ignite wooden pallets in a nearby lot. The flames spread, went up a tree and to three structures.
