BUNNELL, Fla. – A 51-year-old Palm Coast man is facing multiple child sex charges related to a victim younger than 12 years old, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said.

Michael Wayne Jennelle was arrested Friday on charges of sexual batter on a victim younger than 12 and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 12.

Deputies said the investigation into Jennelle by the FCSO’s Major Case Unit began in March after Jennelle reportedly exposed himself and inappropriately touched a known juvenile victim under the age of 12 on multiple occasions in Flagler County.

Investigators said Jennelle was also recently indicted in Virginia on similar charges, including indecent liberties with a child and aggravated sexual battery on a victim younger than 13.

Jennelle was found walking his dog outside his apartment on Pine Lakes Parkway in Flagler County and was arrested without incident, deputies said.

He is being held without bond.

“This young victim was brave enough to report this to a parent who then contacted law enforcement,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Great work by our Major Case Unit.”
