JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a broken gas line Monday afternoon on McDuff Avenue near Nolan Street in the Lackawanna neighborhood.
Just before 2:30 p.m., fire rescue said it was working the broken gas line in front of the City Rescue Mission’s McDuff Campus. The hazmat team was on the scene as well.

City Rescue Mission officials said evacuated the building as a precautionary measure. Within an hour, they were able to return to the building to continue full operations.
Drivers and residents were urged to avoid the area.
Crews are working a broken gas line in the 400 block of McDuff Ave…the hazmat team is in scene…avoid the area.
