$5 increase during peak hours for Historic St. Augustine parking garage

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The price to park in St. Augustine’s Historic Downtown parking garage is going up -- depending on what time you arrive.

As part of the city’s recently approved budget, rates for the parking garage will increase from $15 to $20 per vehicle, per entry, during peak parking times.

The peak times are 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

During off-peak times, from 5-9 p.m. daily, the rate will drop to $5 per vehicle, per entry. But during special events, like festivals and Nights of Lights, the off-peak parking rate won’t apply. The city says the rate also won’t apply on days when free satellite parking and shuttle services are operating.

These rate changes are just for out-of-town visitors. All parking rates for any registered St. Johns County resident using the ParkNow Card will remain the same.

The budget also called for extending the hours of parking enforcement throughout the city.

Hours of enforcement for city-managed parking lots and street parking spaces will be extended citywide from 5-9 p.m. and will include Sundays from 1-9 p.m.

The new rates and hours of enforcement will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 6.
