36-year-old man killed after getting hit by car while pushing shopping cart on Blanding Boulevard

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 36-year-old man from Tallahassee was killed after getting hit by a car while pushing a shopping cart Wednesday on Blanding Boulevard in Clay County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville, was traveling northbound on Blanding Boulevard, just north of Wells Road at around 9 p.m. when he struck the 36-year-old man.

According to the FHP report, the 36-year-old was pushing the shopping cart in the middle of the road and he didn’t see the oncoming car.

The man was transported to HCA Orange Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to FHP.
