Chief of Staff for Mayor Donna Deegan out after 5 months on the job

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a major shakeup to Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan’s staff, Chief of Staff Pat McCollough will no longer serve in that role.

Right now, there is no word as to why the change is being made or what position or role McCollough could fill in the future.

“After working many years in politics and government, Pat is considering how she wants to serve next. I’m truly grateful for her leadership. Under Pat’s guidance, we won a hard fought campaign, smoothly transitioned into office, and made significant progress for Jacksonville, including unanimous passage of our bipartisan task force legislation,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.

McCollough served as Chief of Staff for the past five months and was Deegan’s campaign manager during her historic election.

McCollough made $230,000 a year in her position. No replacement has been named.

McCollough is a retired U.S. Marine Sergeant Major who has led regional, state and national public health, political, organizing, and advocacy campaigns.
