JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla.After being closed for three days because of stormy weather, Deck The Chairs is back Tuesday evening to illuminate Latham Plaza Park with its amazing holiday displays.

Organizers, partners and volunteers worked hard Monday to prepare the park for reopening.

Deck The Chairs organizers had to shut power off to the decorated chair displays because of the major rainy weather conditions that hit Northeast Florida last weekend.

According to organizers, the full experience will reopen Tuesday evening, including concessions.

Please note concessions will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

During its Monday meeting, the Jacksonville Beach City Council approved an agreement renewal between Deck The Chairs and the city, including a three-year term with the option to extend one additional three-year term.

Also, part of the agreement states the city will not be held liable for future improvements to the exhibit’s rental areas, Latham Plaza and the Seawalk Pavilion Lawn, which may impact the event with possible relocation or cancellation.

Deck The Chairs is a six-week free holiday display open to the public from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Concessions close at 9:30 p.m.

This year’s display will run until Jan 1, 2024.
