CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old man was arrested and accused of robbing at least three people that he met during the dating app “Grindr,” according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the suspect used different profiles with the name “Larry.” Then, he would set up a meeting place with the victim in a secluded location. Once the victims arrived, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded cash from them.

According to deputies, in two of the incidents, the suspect forced the victims to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash from their accounts and transfer money to a Cash App account.
On Thursday, deputies sent a picture of the suspect asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
On Saturday, Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook provided an update via Facebook Live on this case. She said right after they posted the picture shown above, they started receiving information from the community.
Adam Ayers was arrested Friday and is now facing several charges including carjacking while carrying a firearm, kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated battery.
His bond is set at $350,006.
“It is important to use extreme caution when meeting strangers online. If you are meeting a stranger, make sure to let someone know your location and meet in a public location when possible,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a release.
