Man killed in shooting on Normandy Boulevard, no arrests have been made

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his mid-30s died after being shot on Jacksonville’s Westside Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. They said the man was found lying in a parking lot.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police said this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to that area.

No arrests have been made. Police said they detained two possible witnesses that need to be interviewed by detectives.
