JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Because of the low temperatures forecast for Friday and Saturday, the City Rescue Mission is increasing its overnight capacity for those who need shelter and Sulzbacher will provide a cold night shelter for those experiencing homelessness.
CRM is also extending its hours, allowing those who need shelter to remain in the mission until the temperature warms above 40 degrees.

“We will not turn anyone away,” said CRM executive director Paul Stasi. “We want to make sure that those without a home have a warm shelter and a hot meal.”
Guests seeking shelter can check in to CRM’s New Life Inn at 234 W. State St. in Jacksonville. All guests will receive a hot meal and will be offered access to showers and clean clothing.
Sulzbacher will set up temporary sleeping areas in dining rooms and library areas for people in need of shelter from Friday night through Sunday morning, in addition to housing its 500+ people at both the Downtown Campus and Sulzbacher Village.
The community can seek shelter from the cold at the following Sulzbacher locations:
- Women and Families: Sulzbacher Village at 5455 Springfield Blvd.
- Men: Sulzbacher’s Downtown Campus at 611 East Adams St.
CRM encourages everyone to stay inside for their safety during the cold weather.
