“It just means that he’s getting healthy. Obviously, we don’t want any setbacks so this will be a slow, gradual process but it will be good to get him out there,” Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson said during a Wednesday morning news conference.

But Pederson declined to put odds on whether or not Kirk will play in the regular-season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars can clinch a division title and a playoff berth with a victory.

“Right now he’s just day-to-day. We just got to see where he is at the end of the week,” Pederson said.

Pederson said Kirk’s goal was always to make it back for Week 18 or the first round of the playoffs.

The Jaguars are 1-3 since Kirk was injured against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 4 and NFL reporter Ian Rapoport noted how important the veteran has been for the team.
