FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Two pedestrians were killed and one was critically injured in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, a 51-year-old man from Palm Coast, was headed north in a pickup truck on U.S. 1 (State Street) around 12:15 a.m. in the right lane when the three pedestrians were crossing, the crash report said.

The pickup struck all three pedestrians and the driver sped away from the scene but was later found in the Terranova’s Pizzeria parking lot off U.S. 1, FHP said.

A 50-year-old woman and a 59-year-old woman, both from Palm Coast, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The third pedestrian, a 48-year-old man from Bunnell, was in critical condition at the hospital.

The pickup driver and his 49-year-old female passenger were not injured in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts, the report said.

The FHP said charges are pending for the driver.
