Driver, passenger killed in crash involving log truck on US 301 in Bradford County

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. – The driver and passenger of a pickup truck were killed Thursday morning after crashing with a log truck on US 301 in Bradford County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP report, the log truck attempted to make a left turn onto northbound US 301 when a pickup truck traveling southbound hit the trailer.

The pickup truck lodged under the log truck’s trailer, FHP said.

The pickup truck’s driver and passenger were pronounced dead on scene.

FHP did not provide any details regarding the driver and passenger’s identity.

The driver of the log truck, a 47-year-old man from Middleburg, was uninjured, according to FHP.

The crash also caused another collision between a sedan and a dump truck. Both vehicles were traveling southbound on US 301, and they veered off the roadway to avoid the main crash. The vehicles ended up hitting each other on the southbound shoulder.

This crash is still under investigation.
