JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you’re heading to the Jacksonville Icemen hockey game against the Florida Everblades on Wednesday night, you can expect some traffic delays, officials said.
This traffic alert comes following the devastating fire at the RISE Doro apartments, which has forced the closure of several roads and businesses over concerns of potential collapse.

During a press conference, Mayor Donna Deegan said fans will still be able to go to this week’s Jacksonville Icemen games at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, but the garage next to the RISE Doro building will be closed.
The following road closures, including sidewalks, are in effect “until further notice”:
- Duval Street East from Georgia Street to Palmetto Street
- Adams Street from A. Philip Randolph Boulevard to Lafayette Street
- A. Philip Randolph Boulevard from Duval Street to Bay Street
- Gator Bowl Boulevard from Lafayette Street to Georgia Street
According to Icemen representatives, alternate parking for Wednesday’s game will be available in lots J & P.
Parking will only be available on the north side of the complex. Officials ask the public to avoid the south side of the arena.
The Jacksonville Icemen game starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
