JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you’re looking for a date this upcoming Valentine’s Day, the Jacksonville Humane Society has a paw-some opportunity for you.

The animal shelter will be offering a blind date matchmaking service to potential adopters on Wednesday.

According to JHS, adopters will be connected with dogs they may not have considered, but whose personalities match their lifestyles. To do so, interested adopters will fill out a short survey, and JHS staff will arrange a blind date with one of their pets.

If interested adopters feel a connection, they can take their match on a date-night sleepover, or even adopt them right then. All animals at JHS will be available for adoption for $14.

“At JHS, we know every animal is a unique individual and so much more than their appearance. This blind date matchmaking service encourages folks to open their hearts and minds to who a pet is, not what they look like,” said Denise Deisler, JHS CEO. “We look forward to seeing many loving connections made during this event!”

People interested in this matchmaking opportunity should visit the JHS Adoption & Education Center on Feb. 14 (Valentine’s Day) from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

JHS said all animals will go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Additional fees may apply at the time of adoption.
