Jacksonville business owner says he’s been targeted twice by same burglar in less than a month

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville business owner is beyond fed up because he said the man who stole from VIP Motors Jax in January is the same man caught on camera returning to the business less than a month later.

Omid, the owner of VIP Motors Jax on Edgewood Avenue, a business that deals with selling vehicles and metal sheets for roofs, shared another video with News4JAX of what appears to show a man arriving on a bicycle and walking around the property.

Omid said he cut through the fence and caused damage but didn’t appear to take much. That’s a different scenario from the first time, though.

Video from inside the business in January shows a man rummaging through the business. Omid said the man stole tools, cash and keys to cars. He also said the man caused extensive damage, leaving him out of thousands of dollars.

Omid believes it’s the same man in both videos, noting that he has a limp and a tattoo on his leg.

He said other businesses in the area have also been hit.

Jacksonville police are investigating, and Omid is asking anyone with information to come forward to help officers catch the suspect.
