FHP searching for SUV involved in hit-and-run that killed 47-year-old man in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Troopers are searching for the SUV involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 47-year-old man from Ocala Sunday morning on County Road 25A.

Troopers said an SUV traveling in the northbound lane of the road, north of NW 100th Pl., when its front right hit the 47-year-old who was “positioned in the area of the roadside and east shoulder.”

FHP said the SUV driver did not stop after hitting the man, who died at the scene.

Troopers said they found parts from the SUV at the scene and they determined the car to be a dark gray 2007 or 2009 Acura MDX SUV.

The SUV should have noticeable damage on its right front section, FHP said.
