‘A little taste of everything’: Hundreds embrace cultural diversity at World of Nations festival in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hundreds of people immersed themselves in cultures from around the world at the City of Jacksonville’s 32nd World of Nations Celebration that’s being held this weekend.

The goal of the festival is to highlight the world’s diverse cultures that make Jacksonville so special, according to event organizers.

On Saturday, News4JAX went to Tailgaters Park on Talleyrand Avenue to talk to some of the attendees who had the opportunity to experience different cuisines and traditions from around the world.

“It’s nice to try different cultures and try different things, get a little taste of everything,” festival attendee Madison said.

The event featured several countries including Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, India, Spain, the Philippines, Mexico and the United States.

The festival also offers live entertainment on the main stage with traditional performances from the participating countries.

Plus, there are unique booths for each country that offer interactive displays, traditional crafts, and other insights into the heritage of that specific country.

Event Details

What: World of Nations Celebration

When: Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Tailgaters Parking at 225 Talleryrand Avenue in Jacksonville

Tickets: Online purchases are $8 plus fees. Tickets purchased at the entrance are $12 + tax for school age children and $14 + tax for adults.
