JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 42-year-old man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck, which was initially hit by a sedan, on Interstate 295 north exit ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 shortly before noon Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the FHP report, the driver of a black sedan, a 24-year-old woman from Jacksonville, struck the pickup truck that was stopped on the highway helping a tractor-trailer with a tire repair. After that initial collision, the pickup truck hit two men who were at the scene.

After the crash, the driver of the sedan ran away from the scene. She was later taken into custody.
One of the two men, who was from Jacksonville, died at the scene.
The other man, a 48-year-old from Live Oak, suffered minor injuries.
The exit ramp to I-10 eastbound on I-295 north reopened shortly after 4 p.m. after being closed for over four hours.
