JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man who was living in the same Woodstock home as a 6-year-old girl who was found dead of undetermined causes has been accused of child sex crimes.
Tyrone Golson, 60, has been charged with three counts of unlawful sex with a minor, online soliciting, possession of child pornography and unlawful use of a two-way device.

On Feb. 19 at 11 p.m., officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an unresponsive 6-year-old girl. The unidentified girl later died at a local hospital and there is still no word on what caused her death and no charges have been filed in connection with her death.
A few days later, on Feb. 23, JSO went back to the house on Allison Street with a warrant for Golson’s arrest. According to a JSO report, Golson met a minor about a month ago and they exchanged calls and texts. The victim told police Golson picked them up, and brought them to his house where videos were made. What happened between them is redacted in the report.
News4JAX has learned that the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) also had an active investigation ongoing into that household before the child’s death.
“(The) 6-year-old child was pronounced deceased after she was transported to the hospital when she was found unresponsive at home. Because there was a prior verified report within 12 months of the death, as well as an open investigation at the time of the incident, a Critical Incident Rapid Response Team will be conducting a review,” DCF wrote in a report.
The details of DCF’s investigation were not immediately available.
Golson is being held on a $1 million bond.
