JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced it will close two outside lanes of the Dames Point Bridge this weekend to perform routine maintenance of the cables.
According to FDOT, drivers traveling southbound can expect to see lane closures starting at 8 a.m. Saturday. When crews complete that side of the bridge, they will switch to the northbound direction.

Work is expected to be completed by 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Crews will use a 230-foot lift to reach, replace and maintain the wind-ties across the bridge, according to FDOT.
FDOT said wind-ties are used to stabilize cable-stayed bridges like the Dames Point Bridge.
