JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 61-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after shooting a man at the intersection of Yellow Bluff Road and New Berlin Road on Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
When officials arrived at the scene, they observed a car blocking the center lane of Yellow Bluff Road. They went into the nearby Walgreens and saw the victim applying pressure to wounds on the right side of his face.

JSO said the victim told the officers that he had been shot and the suspect cut him off and made hand gestures at him.
The report said the suspect began to drive forward and then slammed on his brakes at the intersection. The victim said he thought the suspect was driving away so he began to move forward too, and then his truck collided with the rear of the suspect’s vehicle.
The victim said he turned his flashers on and exited his truck to exchange information with the suspect due to the crash. The suspect exited his vehicle as well.
Officials said they saw a broken driver-side window on the victim’s truck, a bullet hole in the driver’s door, and three other holes in the driver’s door window.
Officials said there was no damage to the victim’s front bumper consistent with a crash. Officers said there appeared to be little to no damage to the rear bumper of the suspect’s vehicle and a possible slight paint transfer of a color different than the victim’s truck.
The report said the suspect was arrested at the Gate Gas Station on Yellow Bluff and charged with attempted murder based on evidence and witness accounts.
