2 hurt, 1 woman dead after argument sparks shooting in Westside parking lot: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One woman died and two others were injured Tuesday night in a shooting during an argument in a parking lot on the city’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said several people were in a parking lot just before midnight in the area of Labelle Street and Plymouth Street when an argument broke out and shots were fired.

Two women and one man were shot, JSO said.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took one of the women to a hospital where she died, JSO said. The other two victims drove themselves to the hospital and were expected to survive.

JSO said four people were detained and transported to the Police Memorial Building for interviews.

JSO said as of Wednesday morning, it does not know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of those involved and because of this the classification of the incident is pending, JSO said.

“We will continue to investigate and coordinate our efforts with our partners at the State Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office,” JSO added in a news release.
