AAA will activate its “Tow to Go” program this Friday in Florida and Georgia to help keep impaired drivers off the road for St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
When someone calls Tow to Go, AAA dispatches a tow truck to transport the driver and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.

Since its inception, the program has removed more than 30,000 impaired drivers from the road. AAA strongly encourages drivers to plan ahead and establish a safe ride home before drinking alcohol or taking drugs, as Tow to Go should be used as a last resort.
“We’re proud to be that last line of defense, keeping people from driving impaired,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the deadliest holidays on the U.S. roadways, with one person killed in a drunk driving incident every 45 minutes in 2020.
Tow to Go is available from 6 p.m. Friday, Mar. 15 to 6 a.m. Monday, Mar. 18.
