Man shot, killed following dispute in Brentwood neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed following a dispute with another person Friday evening in the Brentwood neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said around 10 p.m. officers responded to reports of a shooting on Woodbine Street.

Early investigation revealed the man and another person were involved in “some sort of dispute” before he was shot.

JFRD attempted to render life-saving measures, but the man, identified as 41-year-old Anthony Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The other person involved was detained, according to JSO.

JSO also mentioned they do not know the circumstances surrounding the dispute or the relationship of the two people involved.

Police said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community.
