PALM COAST, Fla. – The 2024 Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade will be held in honor of Megan Burton, the Florida Sheriffs Association’s (FSA) Dispatcher of the Year.

According to a release, this year’s annual Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade will be in honor of Megan Burton, who has served as the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s communication specialist first class since 2015.

In her nine years of service, Burton has won the respect of her community because of her professionalism.

“Her calm and professional demeanor has helped callers during times of distress, her attention to detail has kept our deputies and responders safe and helped them to deliver the best possible outcome,” Sheriff Rick Staley said.

In 2023, Burton responded to a call from a woman whose husband had collapsed while doing yard work. While waiting for first responders, Burton stayed on the line with the woman and instructed her on how to perform CPR, an action that ultimately saved the man’s life.

This year’s parade will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024, and will be presented by the Palm Coast Yacht Club.

Those who cannot attend the parade in person can view a live broadcast by Flagler Broadcasting on KOOL-FM, 100.9 or a live coverage by the City of Palm Coast on YouTube.
