JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were arrested after a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigation pointed to them as accomplices in a fatal armed robbery.
On Feb. 27 around 12:30 p.m., police found a 28-year-old Llyod Burgess suffering from a gunshot wound near Lane Avenue South. He died on the scene.

During the investigation, JSO learned that Burgess was killed while committing an armed robbery with two other men, who were later identified as Darius Person, 29, and Gabriel Woods, 23.
The police did not specify who shot Burgess or what circumstances led to this death.
Woods was taken into custody on unrelated charges on March 19. Then, according to police, an arrest warrant was issued for him as a suspect in the murder.
Person was also interviewed and later arrested.
Woods and Person were charged with felony murder, attempted armed robbery and attempted armed burglary.
