JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man and woman were injured in two separate overnight shootings in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The first incident happened around 11 p.m. Friday on Emerson Street in the Southside.

Police said a man in his 20s was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after suffering a single gunshot graze to the head. He’s in stable condition.
Early investigation revealed the suspect and the victim knew each other and they had engaged in an argument which then escalated to a fight. During the fight, the suspect pulled out a handgun and discharged it at the victim, JSO said.
According to police, the male suspect ran away from the scene and he has not been arrested.
The second incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday on North Davis Street in Hogan’s Creek.
Police said a woman in her 40s was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after she was shot in the leg.
JSO said detectives were unable to interview the victim due to her receiving medical treatment.
At this time, the circumstances that led up to the shooting are unknown and police don’t have a suspect description.
