JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dozens of people gathered at the St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Jacksonville to take part in a procession commemorating Palm Sunday.
“Throughout the centuries, Christians have always walked through the streets of their cities to remember how Jesus rode through the streets of the city, that he came to our cities. That’s where died for us, it was right in the heart of the city of Jerusalem,” Dean of St. John’s Cathedral Kate Moorehead Carroll said. “So here in the heart of the city, of Jacksonville, we remember what he did for us.”

Five churches participated in the procession.
Spencer Sacks had the opportunity to ride the horse during the procession.
“It felt like it was actually like I could understand how Jesus felt when I was riding a horse, like Jesus and what He has done for us,” the boy said.
Meg Sacks, Spencer’s mom, said this procession is a long tradition that brings the community together.
“It’s a big community builder for downtown,” Meg said.
