FLORIDA – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission invites people of all ages and skill levels to its freshwater license-free fishing weekend on April 6 and 7.
FWC invites people to explore Florida’s lakes and rivers for recreational freshwater fishing opportunities.

“Florida offers an experience seen nowhere else in the world through its abundant fishing opportunities,” Tom Graef, FWC’s Director of the Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management said. “License-free fishing weekends help residents and visitors alike connect with friends and family while enjoying the nature Florida has to offer.”

FWC encourages anglers of all ages and skill levels to take advantage of the free weekend with two scheduled family fishing events.
The first event is at Tenoroc Fish Management Area, 3829 Tenoroc Mine Road, Lakeland, FL 33905 on April 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the FWC at 863-648-3200 to register for the event. Free lunch will be provided. Free bait and limited loaner rods and reels will be provided to youth aged 15 and younger with a parent or guardian.
The other event is at the Florida Bass Conservation Center 3583 CR 788, Webster, FL 33597 on April 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Attendees should bring their fishing gear and bait. Free hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided.
