ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Orange Park Mall will hand out free solar eclipse glasses to the community starting April 1 to ensure safe viewing of the upcoming partial eclipse.
“We are thrilled to provide our community with the opportunity to safely experience the upcoming partial eclipse,” said Randy Bowman, General Manager at Orange Park Mall.

The eclipse is expected to begin at 1:47 p.m. and reach its maximum at 3:04 p.m. on April 8.
The free glasses can be picked up at any of the following retailers located at Orange Park Mall:

- Books-A-Million
- Buckle
- Elegant Jewelers
- Kay Jewelers
- Rue21
- Sarku Japan

The mall will distribute up to two pairs of solar eclipse glasses per person.
According to NASA, the total eclipse path will enter the United States in Texas, and travel through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
Northeast Florida residents will not get to view the total phase of the solar eclipse, but it can be observed as a partial solar eclipse.
