Welcome back to the boat project.
In today’s video, we will explore the extent of the damage from a poorly done patch job on the bottom of my 1995 Scout 162 Sportfish. If you’re wondering how we got the boat flipped over, you can view part one of this project here.
This video features sanding, sanding, and more sanding until it’s time to turn a crack into a hole. I started with a less aggressive sandpaper and worked my way up to some course grit paper to cut through layers of gel coat, fiberglass and resin.
In this episode, I will slowly sand away the layers to uncover a rather large crack before opening access to water-logged flotation foam.
Sanding, exploring and making dust. That’s not nonsense, That’s Nunnsense!
