GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Clay County Agricultural Fair has delayed its opening from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. due to severe weather Thursday, according to officials.
The decision came after the Clay County Fair Association met with Clay County Sheriff’s office, Clay County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service regarding severe weather in the area.

Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia are in the path of what could be very strong to severe storms. The Weather Authority will be closely monitoring the radar from very early Thursday morning through early afternoon as these storms move across the area from the west to the east.
A Tornado Watch until 3 p.m. was issued Thursday morning for all 11 Northeast Florida counties in our coverage area and for three of our Georgia counties adjacent to the St. Marys River: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns and Flagler could see tornadoes through the early afternoon.
