Lake City-based Blackwater Development LLC announced last year it is the prospective buyer of Regency Square Mall, the 56-year-old largely vacant shopping center facing code compliance issues for interior problems such as water damage and exposed wiring.

In August 2022, the ownership group of Tebow, Steve Livingstone, Allegretti and Caplin announced that it was bringing professional soccer to Jacksonville after the USL granted expansion franchises to the city. The group added former Jaguars running back Taylor to its ownership field last year.

The USL Super League announced plans to begin play in the 2024 season with eight teams — Carolina, Dallas/Fort Worth, Lexington, Phoenix, Spokane, Tampa Bay, Tucson and Washington, D.C. Jacksonville was one of five other cities to be awarded a team that would begin play in 2025 or thereafter. Chattanooga, Indianapolis, Madison and Oakland are the others.

A new members-only gas station could be coming to the Costco located at the St. Johns Town Center, the Daily Record reported on Friday.

The company applied on April 18 to the St. Johns River Water Management District for a minor permit modification to allow the gas station at its site at 4901 Gate Parkway.
