Even though fists will be thrown, organizers said it’s for a good cause because they’re helping the community.

“We raise a ton of money for charities we’re doing this for charity. We raise quite a bit,” Trevor Hall, a JSO officer said.

A JFRD lieutenant said it’s great to be able to help families.

“It means the world. “We all join this line of work to help and getting the opportunity to get in the ring and fight our other brothers and sisters and raise money for that is awesome,” Brady Acosta, JFRD lieutenant said.

Organizers are hoping to raise more money than they did last year. Hall said they raised around $50,000 in 2023.

The money raised goes toward the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which JFRD is supporting, and Jacksonville’s Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, which is who the officers support.

Both sides are looking to come out with a win.
