20-year-old motorcyclist dead after crashing into concrete utility pole

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist in his early 20s died after crashing into a concrete utility pole in the 9500 block of San Jose Boulevard at around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said He was heading north on San Jose Boulevard when he failed to negotiate the curve.

JSO said he went off the northeast side of the roadway and crashed into a concrete utility pole.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

This is the 55th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2024 and the seventh involving a motorcyclist.
